Faculty Director, Executive Education University of Richmond
Dr. Richard Coughlan is an award-winning speaker who currently serves as Faculty Director for Executive Education at the University of Richmond, where he teaches courses on organizational behavior, negotiations, and consulting to audiences ranging from undergraduates to CEOs. He joined the faculty at UR in 1998 after completing an MBA and Ph.D. in judgment and decision making at the University of Arizona. Prior to graduate school, Richard spent nearly five years in the hotel industry, beginning as a sales manager with Hyatt Hotels and culminating in a position on the management team at The Pebble Beach Resorts in California.
Outside of his role at UR, Coughlan is chairman of the board of directors at Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia, a non-profit with 1200 associates and an annual budget of $84M. He previously served as President of Association for Corporate Growth (Richmond) and was a founding member of the board at InnerWill Leadership Institute. Today, he works as an advisor and facilitator to leaders and emerging leaders at dozens of large and mid-sized firms.
