Megan is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management specializing in Events and Business Administration. After graduating, Megan moved to Richmond, Virginia to start her sales career as a Sales Manager at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. After gaining valuable experience downtown, Megan moved on to work at Richmond Raceway as a Complex Sales Executive where she was responsible for booking and promoting events for the 100,000 square feet of indoor space. During her tenure, Megan managed the Complex Events team who was instrumental in preparing the 1100-acre site for the bi-annual NASCAR event weekends.
Over the course of 13 years with Richmond Raceway, Megan was promoted to Senior Manager followed by Director of Events growing the multi-purpose property to host over 200 indoor and outdoor events. She also helped bring back to life the 6000-seat amphitheater kicking off an opening season with 4 shows and expanding to 18 in 2021 with multiple sold out shows at Virginia Credit Union LIVE! Featured artists include Darius Rucker, the Avett Brothers, Billy Strings, the 1975, Glass Animals, Wu Tang Clan, Machine Gun Kelly and more. After 13 years with Richmond Raceway, she moved on to become the Director of Sales for Drive Shack which is an interactive driving range, restaurant, and bar. Megan focused on growing their brand presence in the Richmond area by leading the partnership deal between Drive Shack and the Dominion Energy Charity Classic PGA Tour while also doubling event sales numbers in the year she was at Drive Shack. Shortly after, Henrico County decided to form a new sports and entertainment department.
The draw back to sports tourism enticed Megan to join the newly formed Henrico Sports and Entertainment Authority to grow tourism and business development for Henrico County and to drive economic impact for the county. She currently manages large scale events and tournaments at the County’s outdoor parks and at the Henrico Sports and Events Center, which opened in November 2023, This includes bidding on and booking the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship, the 2027 D111 Volleyball National Championship as well as sports tournaments ranging from volleyball and wrestling to cornhole and cubing.
Megan just rolled off the board as a 3 year board member of Meeting Professionals International Virginia Chapter, and she is currently a ChamberRVA ambassador, a member of the 2026 Leadership Metro Richmond class, and the President of the Travel Component for VRLTA.
Megan currently lives in Henrico with her partner Dan and their three children, Declan 10, Lauren 12, and Caroline 14 along with their three year old Shiba Inu, Nate Dogg.
