As the Executive Director of Halifax County Tourism for the past five years, LaTonya Sadler Hamilton has steered the county to unprecedented success, overseeing a record $56.6 million in annual tourism revenue. Under her leadership, Halifax County Tourism has launched exciting, dynamic marketing campaigns to increase economic impact to the community and elevate the county’s reputation. LaTonya’s focus on strategic partnerships has deepened the company’s local connections while developing a nimble team that is more responsive than ever to changes within the travel and hospitality industries.
LaTonya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Virginia and an MBA in Leadership from Averett University. Her extensive career includes roles such as Associate Director of Athletics Media Relations at the University of Miami, where she served as a publicist for the Miami Football brand. She also served as Associate Director of Communications for the Big Ten Conference, where she significantly grew their social media presence and managed communications for men’s basketball.
When she’s not promoting Halifax County as a destination of choice, she can be found on or backstage with Halifax County Little Theatre or serving up aces on the tennis court. LaTonya is superhero and mom to Eleanor James and wife to Will.
