Courtney oversees technical assistance, grant programs and strategic planning efforts that help communities revitalize their historic commercial districts. Her work emphasizes design, economic vitality, promotion and strong local partnerships. Prior to joining Virginia Main Street, she launched and grew a successful artisan food business, giving her firsthand insight into the challenges faced by small businesses. She holds degrees in urban planning and business administration and is a frequent speaker on main street revitalization and place-based economic development.
