Al Hutchinson is a visionary leader, destination marketer and as of July 1, 2025, the founder of AVH Enterprise, a leadership development, strategic planning and social impact consulting firm geared toward destination marketing organizations and travel industry professionals.
Previously, Al served as president and CEO of Visit Baltimore from 2016 to mid-2025. As the chief executive of the city’s official destination sales and marketing organization, he drove positive economic impact for the city by attracting leisure travelers and convention business while establishing the organization as an industry leader in both strategic marketing and social impact.
Al boasts more than 30 years of experience in the destination marketing industry in cities including Richmond, Pittsburgh and Mobile. He serves on numerous key industry boards including the United States Travel Association, Destinations International, Tourism Diversity Matters and the Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA). Additionally, Al is a sought-after keynote speaker for destination organizations, having delivered keynote addresses for several destinations including Richmond, VA; Norfolk, VA; and Greenbrier, WV.
