Todd Haymore leads Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Global Economic Development, Commerce & Government Relations practice. Having worked at the intersection of business and government in public- and private-sector leadership positions for more than 25 years, Todd now advises companies, organizations, governments, and state and regional authorities on a variety of issues key to growth and prosperity, including business recruitment, expansion, and relocation.
Before joining Hunton in 2018, Todd served as Virginia’s Secretary of Commerce & Trade and Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry under Governors Terry McAuliffe (D) and Bob McDonnell (R), and Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services under Governor Tim Kaine (D). Prior to his stints in state government, Todd held several leadership positions in the private sector, including serving as head of external affairs and corporate communications for two Fortune Global 1000 companies – Universal Leaf Tobacco, Inc. and DIMON, Inc. – and as a key legislative and communications advisor to former U.S. Congressman L.F. Payne (VA-D) and legislative aide to former Virginia State Senator Onico Barker (R).
Todd currently is a member of the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Board of Visitors and the Board of Directors of the Washington Airports Task Force, Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and Virginia FREE.
Todd earned his BA degree in Political Science from the University of Richmond and his MBA from VCU. In 2016, VCU awarded Todd an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters for his contributions to Virginia in economic development and trade promotion.
